BETHEL, NY – With less than two months remaining before the prestigious, $1,500-to-win LegendStock 2010 race at Bethel Motor Speedway, registration for the event officially opened this week. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 7th, at the ¼-mile paved oval located in White Lake, New York, with a raindate of Sunday, August 8th.

This will be the third running of LegendStock, a tradition that began after the track reopened under new ownership in August of 2008.  With a total purse of $3,000 and three-foot tall guitar-shaped trophies for all of the division winners, LegendStock has earned its place as one of the most prestigious Legends races in the Northeast, and consistently draws in significant talent from up and down the East Coast and beyond.

Daniel Hemric, who went on to claim the INEX Asphalt Pro division national championship, was the overall and Pro division winner of LegendStock 2009. Other division winners included Roger Coss (Semi Pro), Dusty Summers (Young Lions), and Tim Brockhouse (Masters). LegendStock 2008 winners were Michael Gervais Jr. (overall and Pro division), Mike Alcaro (Semi-Pro), and Tim Brockhouse (Masters).

As part of LegendStock 2010, Bandoleros will also have a chance to compete. The Bandolero winner will receive a two-foot tall guitar-shaped trophy. Both of the past winners of the event have moved on to Legends competition. Matt Evans, winner of LegendStock 2008, and Andrew Bickford, winner of LegendStock 2009, have both been regular Legends competitors at Bethel in 2010. As with all Bandolero events at Bethel in 2010, the entry fee for Bandolero drivers will be waived for this competition.

During the offseason, numerous improvements were made at Bethel Motor Speedway, including the widening of the track, which has added another racing lane. Other improvements include the addition of new lighting, and fan-friendly improvements such as the replacement of wood in the grandstands and the implementation of an “express” concession line for pit pass holders.

All of the winners will have their trophies presented by “Miss LegendStock 2010” Kimberlee Morgan. Nineteen-year-old Kimberlee, who resides in Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, was the runner-up for “Miss Middletown Motorsports Show” earlier this year.

The entry fee for LegendStock 2010 is $70, with every driver who takes the green in the A-main guaranteed to pocket at least $50. All registered entrants will receive a commemorative LegendStock 2010 t-shirt. Any questions can be sent to legendstockny@yahoo.com.
